Oklahoma has quite the background and story of the land run days. We have seen OKC grow from a small city that was dependent on only livestock and grain for resources of cash flow for our state. It has grown into a self-sustained economy that has a stronghold in the natural gas industry and oil sectors. We have seen it grown in leaps and bounds while still staying self-sufficient. Oklahoma city boasts a ton of new business and ideas that will keep us on the forefront of economic expansion in this new economy. With Edmond, Moore and Norman Oklahoma growing as well we are seeing that the infrastructure is going to need some much-needed improvement. New bridges, wider roads, and safer intersections are all musts for this thriving state.
A lot of new entrepreneurs are budding from the red clay that we call "home" or home to be politically correct. OKC and it's evolving downtown are host to a lot of new attractions and housing. We have seen a lot of new apartment developments going up around downtown and along the i-35 corridor north and south. We expect to see more of that as city officials are trying to throw a wrench in the home building scene with more expensive development requirements and permits. The expansion would cause a problem with resources in the areas being eyed by the developers at this time. We have got to get a better system to achieve the growth goals of our fine state. People will not stick around if there is no new growth and places to live. The inner urban life is a little cramped now and seems our city is sprawling out every direction. We have small towns like Tuttle, that is going from a 400 student graduating class to almost 800 in a recent projection by 2022. We see Norman outskirts starting to grow with a large number of new neighborhoods and development. East we are seeing the development of new business and schools, along with suburbs that are beautifully designed and developed in the magnificent oak tree laden hills.
Oklahoma city is a great area for families and young professional alike. There is a boast of new places downtown that offer entertainment and venues for every age group. We are starting to see a bunch of old building go through major facelifts and get a new look and purpose that helps the OKC landscape be more appealing to new comers that want to call Oklahoma city home.
There is a new site planned for the old I-40 corridor that is going to be called broadway and will be host to many boutique shops and eatery's that will be sure to keep the downtown OKC are interesting and happening in the minds of the citizens. We will see great turn around of the landscape of OKC in the next century and hopefully a new economy sooner than later with the oil and gas companies making a comeback that is much needed. Oklahoma rely's heavily on our ability to be the largest Natural gas producer in the U.S.
We have many companies that are all dependent on the gas fields and we have to assure that they are sustained by being a self-sufficient country that doesn't need the help of other middle eastern countries for oil and gas. We will see many changes in the way America does business under the new leadership of Donald J. Trump at the helm. We have seen amazing things already that have made the choice of him being the peoples' champion a good decision.
Oklahoma is on a come back in a big way with the addition of new neighborhoods going up everywhere and downtown loft apartments for those that love a big space and a view. There is a new day ahead that I feel will be the birth of the "New Dallas" We have the knowledge and hard work ethics in each and every person that can see the vision of our great state and it's potential for greatness. We wonder though which way is going? We see a lot of activity going on out west of downtown and North East. But, There is only so much land and available natural resources that will allow us to creep out, let's say any further than Newcastle, Minco, or Jones. There is a lot of challenges in economic expansion and the growth of a city. We will see though in the next few years if we can get our state budget back on track to get the necessary funds to get our state back on track to grow into a metropolis of amazingness.
The OKC Thunder have been another topic we have been on top of.
Will they continue to be one of the best teams in the western conference or are we going to see some stagnation? Time will tell for our beloved team. We have a lot of new young teammates that are joining the team and have proved themselves to be great additions and we hope that we see much more to help us get back to the top of our game. They are all stars and deserve to shine. We just have to remember that a team needs the fan's not critics that dilute the spirit of the team and make it hard to focus on a championship win. That being said OKC is a great place to come visit and at least come and hang for a weekend. The Plains are becoming more enticing when the see the news of all the happenings in Downtown OKC and the new Boathouse district. So come to OKC and hang out for a bit to get in on the old-school charm it has to offer and it's new amenities that make our city great.
